Ah, well… I have actually chosen neither of these options! I did start on the Lucretia/Illithyia idea. But then I drew a hand the wrong way around and only realised once I’d inked it so I gave up… Also, to dress like Lucretia you need boobs. Fact.

I ended up drawing the kind of thing I would wear as a Time Lord. Which is a bit like the second idea?

What looks like a monocle is actually something known as an O.G.L.E.D. (Optical Glass Learn and Engage Device).

I have not put too much thought into this.

6. A painting that Charles might have painted?

I feel like this painting by Duncan Grant is somewhere between the two stages of Charles’ art. I don’t think his early country house paintings would have had brush strokes like this, but it’s not really like the more passionate, exotic later work.

(I’ll be the first to criticise this opinion though! Charles’ Omega screen, in ‘Et in Arcadia Ego’, is a symbol of his still unformed taste. And who was a co-director of the Omega Workshops? Duncan Grant. Somehow, I don’t think Waugh would be impressed by my mental image of Charles’ artistic progress. :P I apologise for not knowing a thing about 20th century art beyond the Bloomsberries and Picasso.)

I really am very fond of Grant’s work; if you don’t know much about him, you should look him up. In fact, forget about the paintings, just google photographs of him. The man was quite a dish.

Hum, so this is one of my semi-regular posts to say that I am not dead or in a coma or run away to sea &co. I am feeling very low and not at all in the mood for a twelve hour train journey tomorrow but, despite all, I am Scotland bound. I’m sure I’ll cheer up when I get there. After all, there will be castles to visit…

I will be back sometime in the next two weeks, I think… I wish I could have caught up with some of you before leaving but let’s hope I will when I return. In the meantime, I don’t need to tell you, but keep being awesome. (Especially those of you who have been blending delicious sounding teas that I haven’t yet gushed about…)

I think I’d better leave you with something more interesting than my complaining…

(I watch this on repeat. That’s what I do. It’s my life now.)
